You often see Dubai and The Maldives advertised in the Sunday papers as a classic “multicentre holidays” holiday by mainstream holiday companies. Both the destinations are frequently bundled together because of the reason that Emirates operate a most of the flights to the Maldives and also happen to fly via Dubai. Recently, I took a holiday in the Maldives, with a toddler in tow and decided a stopover would make the trip more relaxed and comfortable; we decided to stop in Dubai because the cheapest flights were with Emirates. This left me double minded with the question of whether these two destinations make a good combination or should it be only one that Experience Travel offer to its customers.
With a history of British governance, Dubai and the Maldives are strictly Islamic. The similarity is both are some of the world’s best hotels and hot beaches, beyond those similarities the destinations are still an interesting combination to visit. Geographically, The Maldives is marvelous; a chain of stunning atolls formed by the dropping of oceanic volcanoes. People want to experience this natural and true beauty first hand.
That’s why Tourism has developed. Some also want to explore the marine life of the surrounding turquoise waters. On the contrary, Dubai’s attractions are something like you wonder if developers are playing a crafty game. And predominantly man made.
A place not more than arid desert which is now a sprawling city. The thing is most of this was recently constructed under a successful master plan. The objective was to attract tourism. The interesting fact which I noticed is the particular contrast; the world’s tallest man made building (828 m), is in Dubai whilst the world’s lowest natural high point (2.4 m), is in Maldives.
In spite of their fundamental variance, both destinations excel in hotel accommodation zone and brings consistency to them as a wonderful holiday combination. There are rare places in the world where resorts like Dubai and Maldives, I found. In the Maldives, there are a hotels with features such as obscure as the snow domes as well as palm shaped islands of Dubai but there is real quality to be experienced and in these hotels, great care has been taken to preserve the marine life and surrounding coral.
So if I talk about a perfect combination I think they both work pretty well, particularly for honeymooners and families. Just Relax in paradise and take in the prettiness of the Maldives, there are no water parks or shops, no ski resorts. Marine life is abundant, nightlife is minimal. This is a great place to spend quality time in paradise.
But why not to stop in Dubai, its amazing fun with every type of hotel, restaurant, shop, crazy construction and water slide, all that you could ever dream of, the journey is much more comfortable and enjoyable if you break it up.
